Before I get started here, I would like to thank Richard for bringing me on board here at Puckrant as a Arizona Coyotes blogger. I can't wait for the 2014-15 season to kick off in October, as I will publish daily non-bias articles, from game previews, recaps, news, notes and more. But in the meantime, the off-season is in full swing for the Coyotes so you can expect a handful of articles per week on some offseason topics surrounding the Yotes organization.
Anyways, without further ado, here is my first post for Puckrant.
With the 2014 NHL Entry Draft quickly approaching us, it's time for me to profile a player the Arizona Coyotes should draft on June 27th in Philadelphia.
The Coyotes will have the 12th overall pick in the draft, and even though the Yotes will be selecting above 10th, there's still some pretty talented 'under the radar' players they could definitely grab.
After doing some quick research and figuring out what players the Coyotes can take with the No. 12 pick, I have settled with Kevin Fiala, an offensive forward from Switzerland, who has some really good top-6 upside.
''Fiala is a high end offensive talent who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Positionally he is inconsistent at this stage of his development in terms of defending. But his creativity combined with quick skating, shooting, stick handling and passing skills - and the ability to find open spaces - make him dangerous every time he's on the ice.'' - Hockey's Future
Below is a video of Fiala in action.
Fiala isn't known for his defensive side, as it could use some work, but his offensive side is solid. He has great stick handling, good puck control, uses his shooting ability to his fullest, and his quickness and agility is very impressive.
It should be interesting who the Coyotes select on draft day. But if Fiala is still available come the 12th pick, he should be a player the they take.
Only time will tell.
